The Niagara Grief Center
This year Niagara County has experienced an increase in the number of traffic fatalities, drownings and other sudden traumatic deaths.
A grief support group sponsored by the Niagara Grief Center will begin meeting in October in Lockport. The focus of this group is support for individuals who have experienced a sudden tragic death of a family member, friend or other loved one. The group will be facilitated by a Certified Trauma Counselor.
The group will meet every second and fourth Wednesday beginning October 11, 2006 and ending in January 2007. Please call the Mental Health Association at 433-3780 x11 if you would like to attend the Lockport group or if you would like more information.
Presently, a Griefshare support group meets at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center one time per month through the summer and will begin to meet twice a month in October. The next meeting date for the Niagara Falls group meeting in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center is September 12, 2006 at 6:00pm on S-6.
There is no cost for those attending either group. |
